Collection of your Information

Site Visits and Tracking

At this time we don’t use any visit or tracking software besides that built into our shopping cart software.  This software will identify your IP address and use cookies to remember what you put in your shopping cart.  Disabling cookies in your web browser will prevent the shopping cart software from identifying an abandoned cart Google and Facebook from tracking your page visits, but it will likely break other aspects of this website. Many areas of this website need cookies enabled to function correctly.

Emails / Forms

When you send an email to us, whether it be a direct email or an email through a form filled out on cssd-sc.com, any personal information you include with your email will be stored on the email server we use (which is currently the service provided by PairNetworks).

We utilize MailChimp to send out our newsletters. The only personal information we store on on their server is you name and email address. Through MailChimp, we can see if you have read or opened the newsletter or if you have unsubscribed.  You are able opt out of these newsletters at anytime, however, if you unsubscribe, you may miss out on information on training events, new knives or anything CSSD/SC related.  We consider MailChimp to be a third-party data processor.

Purchases

When you purchase a product or service we offer, we collect your personal information as part of the checkout process. We collect information such as your name, email address, and mailing address in order to complete the transaction.

When you enter credit card numbers for payment, that data is not stored on our servers or internal computer systems. It is forwarded and stored securely on our payment processors’ servers. We currently use Paypal to process payments. We consider Paypal to be a third-party data processor.

Use of your information

The information we collect from you allows us to provide a customized experience for you. We may use this information to do things such as:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Email you regarding your account or order.
  • Fulfill and manage purchases, orders, payments, and other transactions related to the Site.
  • Notify you of updates to the Site.
  • Prevent fraudulent transactions, monitor against theft, and protect against criminal activity.
  • Process payments and refunds.
  • Resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems.
  • Respond to product and customer service requests.
  • Send you a newsletter.

It is your responsibility to choose secure passwords and to keep them safe. We cannot be responsible for personal data that is compromised due to an insecure or stolen user password.

If we reorganize or sell all or a portion of our assets, undergo a merger, or are acquired by another entity, we may transfer your information to the successor entity. If we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, your information would be an asset transferred or acquired by a third party. We will report any unlawful data breach of this website’s database or the database(s) of any third-party data processor to relevant persons within 72 hours of the breach if it apparent that personal data stored in an identifiable manner has been stolen.
